Have you ever played in a competition and thought to yourself, "I wish there was a competition for my favorite game."
That initial spark of inspiration was the catalyst that spawned the Combat Tracker. A desire to create a system where players can compete in events with local friends, or global online communities, to compete for glory playing the games they love. To take part in competitions crafted by themselves, friends, or official events for prizes and global fame!
Our intention was to create a system that can track the results of competitor's games, regardless of the game itself - if the game produces a winner, loser, drawn match, or a numbered score result between players. Such results are used by the system to track a player's performance during competitions and their progress through an event.
The first event format we plan to introduce is the simplest of them all: Knockout! A set of event rules where the losers of each round are knocked-out of the competition, while each rounds winners progress onto the next round, and so on until all but one player has been eliminated – last player left standing, wins the event!
Following this we will introduce the Swiss Format Event. A system where players are pitted against fellow players with approximately the same number of wins in the event. Thus for example a player with three wins, would be pitted against another player with three wins. While a player with two wins and a lose, would be allocated to battle another player with two wins and one lose. After a set number of match rounds, the standings produces an overall ranking of players that determines the first, second, and third places for the event.
Lastly we plan to introduce a Ladder Format Event where players will get the chance to defend their position on a Ladder, while at the same time, trying to climb higher by knocking opponents off their higher ladder positions. At the end of each Ladder Events season the position of everyone on the ladder determines the first, second, and third placing for the event.
Current Status: Development.
